What do to when you have the *%^& job ever?

Since im at school doing an cooking education.
Yes id like to be later a cook as my profession.

But now from school i need to work 10 weeks at a restaurant. i dont get paid for it. dunnow how to say it in english but in dutch it is : stage.
Im working at the restaurant now for 4 weeks already
but i need to do the shittiest jobs ever they are teaching me almost nothing.

And they think iv got the iq of a dog. since i make some stupid mistakes. but what the $%$ do they think i never worked before. but this isnt just a regular restaurant its at number 28 of the best restaurants in my country.
so its working non stop i may have a smoke 2 times in 9 till 12 houres.


Good things about the restaurant
Its very good for my CV later.

bad things about the restaurant.
I dont like the people.
i have to do all the dirty jobs
i need to ride atleast 2 houres every day on my bike . and 2 times in the week even 3,5 houres when i got a break at the midday.
they think iv got an IQ of a dog or even lower
they think im on drugs.
when i ask when I can go home they say HERMAN STOP ASKING IT IF YOU ASK IT ONE MORE TIME YOU CAN LEAVE HERE FOREVER
i asked that question 2 times in the 4 weeks.


Let me explain it
you never played soccer before and then you are going in the team of barcelona playing a match. you totaly suck ofcourse??!!!

So what should I do ?
shall i work for 6 weeks more full uff hate 10 houres a day 5 days in the week
or find a better company where i learn more but is a bit badder on my CV

I asked it some of my friends but they dont understand it they think working in a restaurant is bullshit and you only need to cook and do easy and no stress jobs.

ye but when i hear other peoples storys about there job they may go to the butcher etc they explain them everything and it aint that good restaurants

I may be happy when they explain me once in a day something about meat

work experiences always suck cuz you cant do nice jobs as you would when your a full cook, maybe you get paid at the end of it when you done your work well and maybe if you show that your dedicated you have good chances to get a job there later :D

I told it to my teachers but my teachers are pussys they are "scared" of such a high class chef cook

they only told me let it go just stay there


If it was on another company they already called the boss of that firm and gave me another firm -.-

lol, we got Traineeships now also, for 3 weeks, we got 1 week left. tho i doesnt have anywhere to be, so im at school and studdy.
a classmate didnt like the place he were at so he told our teach that and he just took the car to that firm and said "Johannes got alot works left to do at school now before holiday, so he cant stay here working, he have to get back to school."

Work is work, unless your not getting paid, so i guess that word was some co op education and that looks so good on resumes, about your co workers, shut them up by working hard and atleast earning some respect if you cant do this maybe you should rethink your education :P

If you honestly think you can get another job somewhere else learning that could be better, then defiantly quit the first one. I would never sacrifice happiness for some learning experience. You're picking the job you love and love to do. But do what you think does best for you.

same for me when i started @ my work, and look now, 1 year later im one of the highest ranks in our department, you have to work whit shit things to get better;) its an test for them to see if ur worth it, or ur a quiter;)

It's indeed very good for ur CV, even if they use you as 'loopjongen'.(Boy they abuse to do the boring stuff.)
I work at the Vegetable&fruits department at Jumbo and I had to do shitty works for a year too, but now my job is alot better than that and my payment too.

You cant work hard if you dont know shit about food.. It's his first job so it's hard to show some1 ells he's the best, you guys have to understand that.

Lexxis if I where you I would ask for explanation of the food you are working with. If they dont give you that, fuck them and write bad things on the internet about them:p I expect you make cold food in the beginning? Just keep your voice low and do what they say, but if you need to do something new, ask/demand for explanation, if they turn mad on you and do it themselves, contact ur teacher.

P.S. can you pm me the restaurant ur working? I'm making a restaurant guide for all the horeca (dont know how to spell it in english) in the Netherlands.

I would suggest you to work hard those weeks, Its like that on alot of places. They let you do the dirty jobs or atleast let you work really hard but if you get throught with it good they will respect that and write in ur cv that your a good worker. And "When can i go home" is a pretty stupid question to ask your boss. You quit when they tell you that you can go home not earlyer so you should'nt ask that.

or, asking that "can i go home?" question, thats stupied, yes, BUT you should not work until your boss says "thats it for today, you can go home".

you should agree on a fixed working hours with your supervisor.

u should stop complaining, bow down, work hard and once they see u are good at what u do and able to learn, they give u other things to do. that is what has top priority, also in many other jobs (there are top-politicans who studied biology, i beg u): BEING ABLE TO LEARN FURTHER. as long as u cant show them that u are, u wont get anywhere.

They arent giving me a change one time they let me do the deserts everything went perfect i guess they only let me do it since there were no cleaning jobs atm also . arent you getting tired you only need to clean ofc i cant concentrate then anymore its only making me pissed xD
