Max Client not working properly

Hello, I need to open more than 5 clients so I figured it out that I had to edit config/settings file (MAXCLIENT variable) and set it to more than 5, however it doesnt work. I changed the MAXCLIENT to 10 and it still open only 5 clients. What should I do? Please someone help me D:

I used to use a virtual machine with Oracle Virtualbox and open 5 more clients
